What is truth?

“Pilate therefore said to him, “Are you a king then?” Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. For this reason I have been born, and for this reason I have come into the world, that I should testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.””

Betrayal in a garden. Peter, warming himself by a charcoal fire, denies him three times. Pilate asks "What is truth?" with Truth standing in front of him. Everyone in this chapter fails except Jesus — and he is the one who walks toward the cross on purpose. If you failed him this week, you're in the company of the people he chose.

Lord, when I'm afraid to be known as yours, give me courage — and mercy when I fail.
