He prayed for you.

Before the arrest, Jesus prays. For himself, briefly. For his disciples. And then for people who don't exist yet — those who will believe through the disciples' word. Their word became this book; you believed through it. So this is a prayer for you, and you can read what he asked: that the Father would keep you, and make his people one.
