Agreement to Terms

By using Gospel Companion, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree with these terms, please don't use the app.

What Gospel Companion Is

Gospel Companion is a free mobile app designed to help believers:

• Read and study the Bible in 170+ complete translations
• Save bookmarks, highlights, and notes
• Track gospel conversations
• Access gospel-sharing resources and guides

The app is provided free of charge with no ads or hidden fees.

Your Account

To use Gospel Companion, you'll need to create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate information when creating your account
• Keep your password secure and confidential
• Not share your account with others
• Notify us immediately if your account is compromised

You're responsible for all activity that happens under your account.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use Gospel Companion in a respectful and lawful manner. You will NOT:

• Use the app for any illegal purposes
• Attempt to hack, disrupt, or damage the app
• Harass, threaten, or harm other users
• Upload malicious code or spam
• Impersonate others or misrepresent yourself
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Automate, script or resell access to Sage or the subscription

We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Content and Intellectual Property

Your Content: You own the notes, bookmarks, and conversation records you create in the app. You can delete this data at any time.

Bible Translations: Bible text is provided by third-party sources and is subject to their respective copyrights and licenses.

App Content: The Gospel Companion app, design, logo, and original content are protected by copyright and belong to Gospel Companion.

Sage and AI Answers

Sage is a study companion powered by artificial intelligence. Its answers are assembled only from sources the app supplies — Scripture, our examinations and studies — and every claim is tied to a cited source so you can check it. Even so, Sage's answers are generated by software and may be incomplete or wrong. They are offered to help you study Scripture, not as pastoral counsel, medical, legal or financial advice, and not as the teaching of any church. Weigh what Sage says against the Bible and the counsel of your church.

You agree not to use Sage to generate content that is unlawful, abusive or deceptive, not to attempt to extract or reverse-engineer how it is instructed, and not to automate requests to it.

Free Service and Companion Unlimited

Gospel Companion is free to use: the Bible, Scripture Memory, the Woven Word, the studies, the examinations, Manna, the New Christian path and your saved study are free, with no advertisements, and a free allowance of Sage answers every month (the number is shown in the app).

Companion Unlimited is an optional auto-renewing subscription that removes the monthly limit on Sage answers. It costs $9.99 per month or $79.99 per year. There are two ways to buy it, and both attach to your Gospel Companion account rather than to a device — so whichever you use, Unlimited works everywhere you sign in: the website, iPhone and Android.

• In the iOS app, through the App Store, charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase. Manage or cancel it in your device's Settings under Subscriptions.
• On this website, through our payment processor Stripe, charged to the card you enter. Manage or cancel it any time from the Unlimited page. We never see or store your card details.

Either way it renews automatically at the same price until you cancel — for App Store purchases, cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Cancelling stops the next renewal and keeps Unlimited until the period you have already paid for ends. You only ever need one subscription; if you already have one, we will not sell you a second. We will tell you before any price change takes effect.

Fair use. "Unlimited" means we don't count your questions. Every answer costs real money to generate, so to keep the service sustainable for everyone, accounts with extraordinary usage may see answers slow down or pause until the month resets. We will always show you when that happens, and it will never affect anything outside Sage.

Refunds. Where you bought it decides who handles a refund. App Store purchases are refunded by Apple under its own terms — we cannot issue those ourselves; request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. Purchases made on this website are refunded by us. If Unlimited isn't what you expected, email support@gospelcompanion.app within 14 days of the charge and we will refund it in full, no argument. After 14 days, cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep Unlimited until the period you paid for ends. Nothing here affects statutory rights you may have where you live.

Buying on Android. In-app purchase is not available on Android yet. Android readers can subscribe on the website, and it works in the app straight away on the same account — sign in with the same email rather than creating a second account.

However, if you'd like to support the app's development and server costs, you can make a voluntary donation through Ko-fi.

Disclaimer of Warranties

Gospel Companion is provided "as is" without any warranties. This means:

• We don't guarantee the app will always be available or error-free
• We're not responsible if you lose data (though we try our best to prevent this)
• The app may have bugs or technical issues
• Bible translations are provided by third parties and we're not responsible for their accuracy

We work hard to provide a reliable service, but we can't guarantee perfection.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Gospel Companion and its developer are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the app, including:

• Lost data or content
• Service interruptions or downtime
• Any decisions made based on app content
• Third-party Bible translation accuracy

Your use of the app is at your own risk.

Changes to the Service

We may update, modify, or discontinue features of Gospel Companion at any time. We'll do our best to notify you of significant changes, but we're not obligated to do so.

Termination

You can stop using Gospel Companion and delete your account at any time by:

• Going to Profile → Delete Account in the app, or
• Visiting our Data Deletion page

We may also suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you through the app or via email. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be resolved in accordance with these laws.
