Day 12 of 30 · John 12
A grain of wheat.
“Most certainly I tell you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains by itself alone. But if it dies, it bears much fruit.”
John 12:24 · World English Bible
Mary pours a year's wages over his feet. The crowd waves palm branches and shouts. And Jesus talks about dying — a seed that has to go into the ground before anything grows, and being lifted up so he can draw all people to himself. The cross wasn't an accident that interrupted the plan. It was the plan.
Jesus, whatever in me has to die so that something grows — I'll let it go.
