Step five of seven
Ask about baptism.
Baptism is the public “yes” to what has happened inside. Jesus told his followers to do it — so it’s a conversation to have with your church, soon.
“Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,”
Matthew 28:19 · World English Bible
WHAT IT IS
A sign, done with water in front of others, that you belong to Jesus — washed clean, buried with him, raised with him. It doesn’t save you; it says out loud that he has.
WHAT TO ASK A PASTOR
- How does your church baptize, and why that way?
- When could I be baptized?
- What should I expect — do I say anything?
Churches differ on how and when. That’s a family conversation — the command is the same everywhere.
