““Most certainly I tell you, he who hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life, and doesn’t come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.”
John 5:24 · World English Bible

A man ill for thirty-eight years, and Jesus asks him the strangest question, do you want to be made well?, then heals him with a word. The chapter turns on who Jesus claims to be: working as his Father works, equal with God. And then the verse above. Read the tense. Not *will* pass, someday. *Has* passed. If you believe, the crossing is behind you.
