Day 25 of 30 · Psalm 46

Be still.

““Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted on the earth.””

Mountains shaking, waters roaring, nations in uproar — and God a refuge in the middle of it. When fear rises, this is the psalm. The command is to be still, and the reason is that he is God and you are not. That's not a rebuke. It's a relief.

ONE LINE TO PRAY

God, I'm still. You are God, and I am not.
