About this place
Mount Moriah is the place where Solomon built the temple in Jerusalem (2Chr. 3:1). It is also the location where God tested Abraham by asking him to sacrifice his son Isaac (Gen. 22:2). God provided a ram as a substitute for Isaac, and Abraham named the place "The LORD Will Provide" (Gen. 22:14). The temple was built on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite, which David purchased to build an altar to the Lord (1Chr. 21:18-30; 22:1).
