Who he was
Omar was one of the sons of Eliphaz and a grandson of Esau (Gen.36.11, 15; 1 Chronicles 1:36). He is mentioned in the genealogies of Esau, which list the descendants of Esau and the chiefs of Edom. As a grandson of Esau, Omar was part of the Edomite clan and likely held a position of influence within the tribe.
