Maaseiah

Maaseiah was a descendant of Shiloni who lived in Jerusalem after the Babylonian exile (Nehemiah 11:5). He is mentioned in the list of people who resettled in Jerusalem, which was compiled by Nehemiah as part of his efforts to repopulate the city (Nehemiah 11:1–36). Maaseiah is identified as a descendant of Judah through the lineage of Shiloni. The resettlement of Jerusalem was an important step in the restoration of the Jewish community and the reestablishment of their presence in the holy city.
