About this place

Hazar-gaddah, meaning "village of fortune," was a town located in the Negev, the southern region of the Promised Land. It was part of the territory allotted to the tribe of Judah during the division of the land under Joshua's leadership (Josh 15:27). The town was situated in the far south of Judah's inheritance, near the border with Edom. Its location remains unknown.
