Who he was
Tirhanah is mentioned briefly in 1 Chronicles 2:48 as one of the sons of Caleb by his concubine Maacah. He is listed along with his brothers Sheber and Shaaph. Caleb was a prominent figure from the tribe of Judah, one of the twelve spies sent by Moses to explore the land of Canaan (Numbers 13:6). The genealogy in 1Chronicles 2 traces the descendants of Judah, including Caleb's family.
