Shelomith

Who he was

Shelomith (or Shelomoth) was a Levite who belonged to the family of Izhar, son of Kohath. In 1 Chronicles 23:18, he is listed as the first of the sons of Izhar. Later, in 1 Chronicles 24:22, Shelomoth is mentioned twice as the head of the father's house of Izhar. This suggests that he was a prominent figure within the Izharite clan of the Levites during the time of King David's organization of the Levitical duties.
