Who she was
Sheerah was the granddaughter of Ephraim, the son of Beriah. She is mentioned in 1 Chronicles 7:24 as the builder of the lower and upper Beth-horon and Uzzen-sheerah. Building cities was an unusual achievement for a woman in ancient times, suggesting that Sheerah was a prominent figure. The location of Uzzen-sheerah is unknown, but Beth-horon was a significant town in the territory of Ephraim.
