Who he was
Sered is mentioned in Genesis 46:14 and Numbers 26:26 as one of the sons of Zebulun, the tenth son of Israel (or 'Jacob'). He is listed among the descendants of Jacob who went to Egypt during the time of Joseph. In Numbers 26:26, Sered is identified as the ancestor of the Seredite clan, one of the clans within the tribe of Zebulun. The Seredites were numbered among the Israelites during the census taken in the wilderness of Sinai.
