Who he was

Saph (or Sippai) is mentioned in 2 Samuel 21:18 and 1 Chronicles 20:4 as a Philistine giant who was killed by Sibbechai the Hushathite during a battle between the Israelites and the Philistines. The battle took place at Gob (2 Samuel 21:18) or Gezer (1 Chronicles 20:4), and it was part of a series of battles in which David's mighty men fought against the Philistine giants (2 Samuel 21:15–22; 1Chronicles 20).
