Obed
Who he was
Obed was a gatekeeper in the temple during the time of King David (1 Chronicles 26:7). He was the son of Shemaiah, a Korahite Levite. As a gatekeeper, Obed's responsibilities likely included guarding the entrance to the temple, maintaining order, and ensuring that only authorized individuals entered the sacred space. The mention of Obed in the list of gatekeepers highlights the importance of this role in the temple service.
