Who he was

Nacon, also referred to as Chidon, is mentioned in connection with the transportation of the ark of God during the reign of King David. The ark, a sacred object representing God's presence among His people, was being moved from Kirjath Jearim to Jerusalem (2Samuel 6; 1Chronicles 13).

During the journey, the oxen pulling the cart carrying the ark stumbled, and Nacon was punished for touching the ark when he feared it might fall off the cart.
