Who they were

Miktam is a term that appears in the titles of six Psalms: 16, 56-60. Its exact meaning is uncertain, and various interpretations have been proposed. Some scholars suggest that it may be a musical or liturgical term, possibly related to the word "miktab," which means "writing" or "inscription."

Others propose that Miktam could be derived from the root "katam," meaning "to cover," and might refer to a "covering" or "atonement" psalm.
