Meres
Who he was
Meres was one of the seven princes of Persia and Media who had access to King Ahasuerus and were closest to him in rank (Esther 1:14). These princes were consulted by the king when he sought advice on how to respond to Queen Vashti's refusal to appear before him and his guests during a royal feast.
