Maacah

מַעֲכָה · ma.a.khah · H4601G1 mention, all in Genesis

Who he was

Maacah was a concubine of Nahor, who was the brother of Abraham (Genesis 22:24). She is mentioned in the genealogy of Abraham's family, which lists the children born to Nahor and his wife Milcah, as well as his concubine Reumah. Maacah is identified as the mother of Tebah, one of Nahor's sons. No further information is provided about Maacah or her son Tebah in the biblical record. Her inclusion in the genealogy highlights the complex family structures of the patriarchal period and the importance of documenting lineage in the ancient Near East.
