Who he was
Laish was the father of Palti (or 'Paltiel'), a man from Gallim (1 Samuel 25:44). King Saul gave his daughter Michal, who was previously married to David, to Palti as a wife (1 Samuel 25:44). After Saul's death, David demanded that Michal be returned to him as part of a political agreement with Abner, the commander of Saul's army (2 Samuel 3:12–16). Paltiel followed Michal, weeping, as she was taken back to David, until Abner ordered him to return home (2 Samuel 3:15–16).
