Who he was
Kore was a Levite gatekeeper, a descendant of Korah (1 Chronicles 9:19). He belonged to the Korahite clan, which was responsible for guarding the thresholds of the tent of meeting (1 Chronicles 9:19). Kore and his relatives were also in charge of guarding the entrance to the temple during David's reign (1 Chronicles 26:1). They faithfully carried out their duties as gatekeepers.
