Jabesh
Who he was
Jabesh is named only as the father of Shallum, who conspired against Zechariah king of Israel, killed him and reigned in his place (2 Kings 15:10). Shallum reigned for a month in Samaria, in the thirty-ninth year of Uzziah king of Judah, until Menahem the son of Gadi came up from Tirzah, killed him and reigned in his place (2 Kings 15:13–14).
