Hallohesh
Who he was
Hallohesh is mentioned in Nehemiah 3:12 and Nehemiah 10:24 as the father of Shallum, who was a leader during the time of Nehemiah. In Nehemiah 3:12, Shallum, the son of Hallohesh, is described as the leader of half the district of Jerusalem. He and his daughters participated in repairing a section of the wall of Jerusalem. The rebuilding of the wall was a significant event in the history of Jerusalem, as it provided security and stability for the city and its inhabitants after the return from Babylonian exile. In Nehemiah 10:24, Hallohesh is listed among the leaders who sealed the covenant to follow the Law of God. This covenant was a solemn agreement by the people to obey God's commands and to support the temple service.
