Who he was
Bakbuk is mentioned in Ezra 2:51 and Nehemiah 7:53 as the ancestor of a family of temple servants (Nethinim) who returned to Jerusalem from Babylonian captivity. The temple servants were a group of people assigned to assist the Levites in the maintenance and service of the temple. The lists in Ezra and Nehemiah record the names of the families who returned to Judah to resettle and rebuild the temple.
