Arad is mentioned only once in the Bible, in 1 Chronicles 8:15, as one of the sons of Beriah, a Benjamite. He is listed among the descendants of Benjamin who lived in Jerusalem. No further information is provided about Arad in the biblical text. His name means "wild donkey" in Hebrew.
