ISBE 1915

From the International Standard Bible Encyclopedia (1915). Where it reports or adopts critical theories, those are the views of its writers or the scholars they cite; Gospel Companion holds the historic Christian view of Scripture.

har'-oz (chrits): Charits has no connection with the verb translated "harrows." The context seems to indicate some form of pointed instrument (2Sa 12:31; 1Ch 20:3; see especially the Revised Version margin).
